Get a ham, easier than a turkey. Potatoes and do a green bean casserole with french onions. The recipe is on the can of french onions. Buy a dessert it is easier. All will be a hit if you try. Everyone will just enjoy a home cooked anything in someones home meal. Just make it easy and enjoy whomever is there.

Over the years, my family of origin have eaten the following things for their Thanksgiving meal:
Roast Turkey with giblet gravy
Mashed potatoes
Yam and apple casserole
Green bean, mushroom soup, and onion ring casserole
Creamed pearl onions
Spiced peaches
Cranberry sauces: jellied and whole berry
Orange gelatin mold salad
Green salads
Pecan pie
Pumpkin pie
The only recipe you won’t find on the Web is the creamed pearl onions. So here it is:
Boil 1 pound cleaned pearl onions in unsalted water until tender.
Drain, reserving the liquid.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter, stir in 2 tablespoons flour until it is coated.
Add two cups cold whole milk.
Stir over low heat until the sauce thickens.
Flavor to taste with nutmeg, Italian seasoning, and pepper.
Add the boiled onions.
Keep warm until serving.
If the sauce becomes too thick, add milk one tablesppon at a time until it is the right consistancy.

you need to pick up a copy of the holiday 2007 Betty Crocker magazine the Thanksgiving issue. it has a lot of good thanksgiving information in it. If you can’t get a copy of it where you live ask your friends or family that live in the united states to buy and send you one. hurry they are only to be in stores till 11/06/07. hope this helps.
